PINOT GRIS: 2022
AWARD:
Gold - National Wine Awards Aotearoa
Single Vineyard - Hand Picked
The Pinot Gris from “The Old Block” at Bladen was planted in 1989. These vines continue to produce high quality fruit, albeit, less of it.
Sight: Pale green gold.
Smell: Peach blossom and honey comb with hints of nashi pear.
Taste: Mature vines have created an elegant palette built around classic pear and nougat, expanding to incorporate vanilla and peach. The finish is dry and the texture creamy, thanks to an extended period of fine lees contact.
Pairing: Serve well chilled and share with friends and a picnic.
Cellaring: Now through to 2028.
RS: 3.9g/L / Alc: 13.2% / TA: 5.8g/L / pH: 3.37
